Telus FAQ slip up: cranky employee or poor choice of placeholder copy?

Techvibes has four theories on what went wrong on the Telus FAQ fiasco
Photo: business temptation

It's gone now and no one is quite sure how long it was there, but the Telus' FAQ point that explained the need for a credit check in terms of "you may be broke" and "deadbeat" shows what happens when employees are not fully engaged in their work.

TechVibes' theories? (1) Bored or disgruntled worker, (2) hacker, (3) placeholder copy that didn't get caught (also suggesting lack of engagement and attentiveness), or (4) they just decided to go with unvarnished honesty.

Since we can pretty much rule out options 2 and 4 (a hacker breaks into their server and changes one point on the FAQ page?), it looks like a lesson on what employee disengagement can do to your brand.
