In certain workplaces, business comes before fairness. Businesses think about their goals and the
strategies they can use to meet those goals. Unfortunately, when businesses do such things they do not consider the
needs of their clients or customers. Another unfortunate thing is that front-line workers who serve these clients/customers experience these unfair business tactics. In turn, employees end up becoming upset when they see first hand how clients/customers are treated day after day. When employees or clients/customers feel they are being treated unfairly it compromises their feelings of safety. However, trying to make a profit by exploiting others, whether it's employees or unwitting customers, or exploiting the environment is unjust.” Employees will eventually become unhappy and demoralized when they have to carry out policies they know are unfair. Employees may be apathetic, look for a job at another organization, and become disloyal to the company. In order to resolve such a problem workplaces need to create a workplace culture that values fairness. The organization’s senior members need to implement and promote these policies and show employees that they are committed to taking the necessary step to treat everyone equally and fairly. The organization also needs to incorporate these values into their vision and mandate as well as their business practices.
